It seems this is the time for big sports games to land on the Android market. Yesterday saw the release of EA’s FIFA ’10 for Android which is turning out to be another bad launch of a game with content downloading issues (see our FIFA ’10 post for the update). Now Konami jumps into the fray and releases MLB Power Pros 2010 onto the market.
EA Mobile, not known for their support of Android due to their lack of games released onto the market as well as the quality of the games, aims to turn that around with their newest release. FIFA 10 just landed on the Android market and brings with it a huge amount of customization for teams and your own player as well as 3D graphics and touchscreen controls.
With the success of Baseball Superstars 2008 and 2009, Gamevil has just released the newest addition to this line of games, Baseball Superstar 2010. This game has a whole lot more to offer then it’s previous namesakes such as 6 different modes of gameplay, more customizable options and asynchronous multiplayer so you can play against your friends now.
Distinctive Games (a.k.a Distinctive Developments LTD) have been showing a lot of support lately with releasing some great games such as Hockey Nations 2010 and Rugby Nations 2009 and show no signs of slowing down and to prove this, Pool Ninja was just released onto the Android market which is a whole new take on the game of Pool.
Glu Mobile, who has produced some really great games for Android since it’s beginning, has released Super KO Boxing! 2 onto the Android market. This game features some great graphics, signature moves, and different gameplay modes and comes in two flavors: Paid or Free. The Free version, however, is actually the full game just ad supported!
We pretty much have a sports game for Android for each type of sport right now from basketball to soccer, pool to football but no hockey. Well that just changed as Hockey Nations 2010, by Distinctive Wireless Inc, just landed on the Android market. This is a 3D hockey game with stellar graphics and game play which they ported over to Android from the iPhone.
