We already have the Xbox One SmartGlass application which allows people to access their Xbox Live account and do a few things like tweak your avatar or experience second-screen gaming on select Xbox One titles. We knew it wouldn’t be long before this was expended and more of Xbox Live would become more available through your Android device. This is exactly what Microsoft has announced today.

Generally when we are talking about an application on Android it is usually either some sort of companion application for an already existing game, an emulator or a fan made application like a Live Wallpaper. This time we are actually talking about a non-gaming application getting an add-on made for it that deals with gaming. If you happen to use DashClock, there is now a widget that allows you to see what friends are online on Xbox Live.
We knew this was coming awhile ago, actually back in January of this year. Well now it has finally arrived onto Google Play. What are we talking about? One would think that of all the companies to not make an app for Android that Microsoft would be one of them. However, we have to keep in mind that Microsoft has plenty of reasons to support Android considering they leech money off some manufacturers for every Android unit they sell. Keeping that in mind it looks like there may possibly be an Xbox Live companion app in the works.
