Exclusive Preview: TibiaME MMORPG for Android about to hit beta, here is a sneak peek at it

Back in November we reported that you could play TibiaME MMORPG on your Android device using a client made by one of the player. While the client was a bit rough around the edges, it did the trick. We also wrote to the developers asking if an Android version would be coming and indeed there is, and here is a peek at it!

The fine folks over at Cipsoft sent us over a copy of the beta version for the Android platform. While this is still an early beta, it is already looking pretty nice so far. Currently the beta only supports a screen resolution of 320×480 but the crew over a Cipsoft is currently working on making it compatible with all resolutions. You’ll see in the screenshots we took some small graphical glitches which is caused by this. Other then that though the controls and game ran great. Controls are all touchscreen and you’ll have a virtual D-Pad on the left with your menu option on the right in the bottom portion of your screen.

TibiaME is a retro-style MMORPG and comes with everything you’d expect an MMORPG to have including quests, a ton of items, dungeons, PvP and much more, all layered in cool retro-style graphics. The beta client runs a lot better then the workaround that we posted about before so you will see some performance improvements right off the jump.

Speaking of the beta, a lot of you are probably curious as to whether or not this will be a public beta. The answer is… we don’t know but most likely it will be initially a closed beta due to the screen resolution being what it is. When the game is compatible with all screen resolutions, or at least a majority of them, it’ll probably hit open beta status.

Good news though is that won’t be long from now as Cipsoft also let us know that the beta will possibly start as early as tomorrow (Jan. 28th, 2011). It might be a few days later but they are shooting for a beta start of tomorrow. So if you’re interested in being a part of the beta, keep an eye on the official site for more details, and of course here as well.
