Asphalt 6 gearing up for release soon? It seems so!

It’s starting to look like Asphalt 6 is gearing up for release onto Android. Why do we say this? It seems as though Gameloft is doing their usual habit of slowly leaking out purchase pages and whatnot to test them out before they release the game associated with that page. Asphalt 6 is starting to make an appearance now.

Thanks to one of our regular tipsters on all things Gameloft, it appears as though the Asphalt 6 page is starting to appear on the mobile site. When you are at the page for Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus, if you tap on “More Games”, you should be able to see the Asphalt 6 landing page. Further indication that this game is getting ready for release within the next few days (if not today), is the fact that you can now go to the purchase page on the Gameloft web store using a direct URL to the Asphalt 6 page.

Features:

  • 42 models from the most prestigious manufacturers (Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin and more)
  • Online/Local Multiplayer mode for up to 6 players
  • 12 tracks, from L.A. to Tokyo and more, with HD graphics
  • An immersive Career mode with 11 different leagues and 55 events
  • Amazing number of tuning options for each model (decals, rims, boosts, and more)

Unfortunately when you do use the direct URL, it is nothing more than the standard template they use for all games but the fact the URL is live is a good sign. Of course when more information is leaked onto the site, including screenshots, we will post an update. If you are interested, you can check out the video of Asphalt 6 on the Acer prototype Tegra 2 tablet from CES 2011 we got to play with.

Thanks to luis for the tip!

Edit 1:49pm Fri. Jan28th, 2011: Fixed the link to the Asphalt 6 purchase page. Thanks to Dave Loft! Also added game features.
