New MMORPG RIFT releases authenticator app for Android devices today

RIFT is a new 3D MMORPG which is pretty awesome in it’s own right. Today they announced that they will be launching a new authentication service today which is always good when it comes to the security of your account. Blizzard has a battle.net authenticator application for Android and RIFT has already released theirs today. There is one catch though.

The authenticator will add an extra level of security to your RIFT account so it will be that much more difficult to hack. A new launcher will be released today for RIFT which will allow Android users to actually use the authenticator app. Currently right now, if you use it, it won’t let you log in since the code isn’t in place yet. Don’t worry though, you won’t be locked out forever, just until everything is synced up.

When the new launcher is in place, you’ll be able to use the authenticator that you’ve downloaded free off the Android Market. So if you play RIFT you may want to go grab this now, just don’t activate it until the official announcement has been made that everything is good to go which should be at some point today.
