Zappar lets you play video games on t-shirts using your Android device

As new ideas come forth in the world of augmented reality games, it should come as no surprise that now, using your Android device, play games that are on t-shirts. How does this work out? Using a niftly little app called Zappar on your Android phone or tablet… plus having someone wear the shirt.

In Las Vegas during the Magic International Fashion Show, Hybrid Apparel launched 20 t-shirt designs that, although look pretty slick on their own, actually turn into a video game that you can play on your Android (or iOS) device when you have the Zappar App installed on it. To start up a game on a shirt, all you need to do is point your device’s camera at the t-shirt (with the Zappar App installed) and it will trigger the animation and gameplay.

While this is great, it does pose a couple of problems for the shirt wearer. One would be that you will have to stand very still while everyone takes turns playing your game. The second would be if you happen to be wearing a shirt that no one has seen/played before, be prepared to be mauled by people trying to play you. You can check this out in action in the video above. Enjoy.
