Stats: Angry Birds series downloaded more than 350 million times

Rovio’s massively successful series of games featuring some rather Angry Birds have been downloaded just over 350 million times across all platforms of mobile devices that the games are available on. This includes the original Angry Birds, Seasons and of course, Rio as well.

That’s a lot of downloads but the numbers don’t stop there. The Angry Birds games are played a total of 300 million minutes a month across all mobile devices as well and even the short YouTube videos that Rovio puts out on occasion have garnered over 170 million views so far. Want more numbers? How about 1 million plushie toys and 1 million t-shirts. That’s what Rovio sells in a month as well. Merchandising your brand does have some benefits to it, especially when you have a popular game.

Of course Rovio’s plans do not stop there as they already have a TV series and movie in the works, cookbooks and other non-gaming items coming your way to make sure every aspect of your life has some sort of angry bird invading it. The real question is though, when will it stop? Do you want it to stop? Sometimes over saturating the market is a bad thing.

Knowing Rovio and how they work, don’t be surprised if we see more products coming our way including possibly another game.
