Game On Beta: Share your game data with other Android gamers

There is a great application being developed by Made in Brooklyn Apps called Game On which will allow Android gamers to share game data with other fellow gamers through the use of this app. This is great if you’re stuck in a certain spot in a game and want to get past it.

Some gamers might call it a bit of a cheat but if you can’t get past a certain level after trying a thousand times, instead of just uninstalling the game and giving up, you can search on this app to see if other gamers have their game data available for that particular game you happen to be stuck on. When you search for a game, if there are matches, it will show each one plus a short description as to how far along in the game that particular data set is. So if you are stuck on level 22 and you find someone with data up to level 24 (this is a generic example), you can download that game data, restart the game and away you go.

This won’t work with certain types of games, mostly those that store your game data on servers instead of on your Android device. Games like this are generally multiplayer games, especially MMO-type games so this also won’t let you pull any sort of item duping since it’s all server based data. It will, however, get you past areas you’re stuck on. Currently it supports 60 games with more on the way.

Currently Game On is in the beta stages of development and there is an official XDA thread for the entire project if you wish to contribute or just want to check it out. The current version of Game On will only work if your Android device is rooted although the developer(s) are working on a final version that will not require you to have a rooted device as well as bringing support for Gameloft games. When all is said and done, it’ll be available by the end of this year on the Android Market for $2.99 but you can head over to that XDA thread and download the beta for free to try out.

You can check out Game On in action in the preview video above.
