Sixaxis update brings much improved Samsung Galaxy SII support

Recently the Sixaxis Controller application for rooted Android devices was updated. In this update last week, the developers behind the app brought with it much better support for the Samsung Galaxy SII device and most likely other recent Samsung Android devices as well.

The better compatibility comes from Sixaxis being able to use the Samsung Bluetooth stack which, up until this release, it could only use the stock Android Bluetooth stack for using controllers with. Considering the ridiculous among of Samsung devices floating around right now, this news should make a few of you pretty happy.

If you don’t know what Sixaxis is, it is an application that lets you use PS3 controllers on your Android device. You do, however, need to be rooted in order to use this application. You can download it off the Android market for around $1.75. If you are not sure if your device is compatible with the Sixaxis Controller app, you can check it with the free Compatibility Checker app as well.
