Pre-order starting back up on Amazon for a new Tegra 3 Transformer Prime 64GB model tablet?

Considering all the weirdness that seems to be following the Transformer Prime quad-core Android tablet release with things like delays and pre-orders being cancelled, it seems things could be getting back on track, at least over at Amazon as there is a new 64GB model up for pre-orders.

This model is pretty interesting though as it is apparently Champagne colored instead of your typical black, steel/grey or white looking tablets. It also comes with 64GB of internal storage. Here is the full list of specs for this Transformer Prime:

  • 10.1-inch SuperIPS + display with Gorilla Glass
  • 1.3GHz quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 Processor with 12-core GPU
  • 1GB RAM
  • 64GB internal storage with microSD card slot
  • 8MP F2.4 rear shooter with continuous flash for video recording, 1.2MP front camera
  • microHDMI port
  • 12 hour battery life playing 720p video, 18 hours with keyboard dock
  • Android 3.2 – it will be getting Android 4.0 shortly after release

Currently the Transformer Prime is still set for a December 19th release date and demand for any version of this tablet has been extremely high which is what happened with the original Transformer tablet from Asus. There ended up being a shortage due to the demand and retailers had issues keeping enough stock. So if you happened to have had your previous pre-order cancelled or now have the money to snag one, you can head over to Amazon and get your pre-order in before it’s sold out for this new model. This model will run you $599.

Unfortunately if you want a different version that costs less, those are currently still not back on the Amazon site.
