World of Midgard MMORPG 3rd beta on the way, what to expect and not to expect.

World of Midgard is a mobile cross-platform 3D MMORPG currently in development and sitting in the 2nd (closed) beta phase is gearing up to move forward to it’s third beta phase, aptly named “Third BetaWoM” or TBW for short. For those of you who signed up to get into any of the phases of beta testing awhile ago and haven’t gotten in, you may end up in this new wave of testing.

With TBW on the way, the developers of World of Midgard have released a statement going over what to expect in the third beta phase of testing. One thing they make abundantly clear is not to expect a full game available or to be handheld in any way regarding things like movement, finding your way around the world or gaining a ton of XP right away. Essentially this is an MMORPG for people who do not have a weak heart or expect a lot of hand-holding.

The developers also want to make sure you know that there will be bug, possibly a lot of them. That, however, comes with the territory of being in a beta. This particular beta phase will be the early full testing of Faction Wars which will be the first release of World of Midgard. Think of it like the original World of Warcraft and then future expansions will have sub-names.

Here is a list of things to expect, or not to expect, in this third beta phase:

– TBW does not have map of any kind not even minimap so you will be lost often.
– TBW has just a few testing quests and you will have to grind your way to higher levels by killing mobs without any quests for them.
– TBW does not have any crafting at all, combat only.
– In TBW (except for first few levels) the loot is only on hard to kill bosses.
– TBW has good main game play screen interface but some of screens on menu are ugly. When you talk to NPC and trainers interface gets even more ugly.
– TBW might crash on you sometimes.
– TBW might have bugs which might infuriate you.
– TBW might not work on your specific Android device and we will be unable to help you with it (but we will note your device and will try to add support for it in Faction Wars)

Basically if you find any of these things something you can’t handle, the developers are saying that you should wait till later beta phases or until the game is actually released. For those of you who are hardcore beta testers and gamers, you are more than welcome to jump on in.
