Hit indie game, A Long Way Home, floats gently onto Android

Video Games generally bring about emotions of a positive nature whether it is the sheer enjoyment of killing countless enemies or defeating an opponent you are playing against. It could be just the relaxing feeling you get playing a casual game or the triumph you feel when you solve a difficult puzzle game. A Long Way Home on the other hand brings different emotions to the surface.

A Long Way Home is an indie game developed by Jonathan Mulcahy that has gotten a bit of a cult following on other platforms like iOS and from other gaming sites. It is a rare game that brings up the feeling of loneliness and peacefulness between the gameplay and the soundtrack that accompanies it. In this game you are stranded 100 light years from home and there is only you, some asteroids and wide open space.

A Long Way Home Features:

– 100 Levels
– Physics Style Gameplay
– 2 Control Types (Accelerometer and Onscreen Buttons)
– Stunning Graphics
– Fantastic Ambient Music

This game is a physics-based puzzle game where you have to collect dark matter by jumping between the floating asteroids. Once you’ve collected all the dark matter on each stage a portal opens which you then jump through in order to get to the next stage a slightly closer to home. It isn’t as easy as it sounds as you will have exploding asteroids, comets, teleporting dark matter and more to deal with on your quiet journey home.

For those of you who like indie games that bring a unique perspective to any particular gaming genre, this is one title you might want to check out. It is available on both the Android Market and Amazon App Store for $1.99.
