New Angry Birds game will have you flinging birds in space on March 22nd

So that new Angry Birds promo we were trying to guess what it was for has finally been revealed. Apparently it will be a new game coming March 22nd and will take those Angry Birds off of the planet Earth and toss them into outer space. Both NASA and National Geographic will be landing a hand in the development of this new game.

This is all thanks to Yahoo who somehow managed to nab some of the details for this new Angry Birds game. This will be the forth title in the Angry Birds franchise and now looking back at the promo image Rovio released, the whole space theme makes sense.

Angry Birds Space will drop the Earth-based physics and will now have space physics to deal with which means a whole new style of gameplay to learn. This will include things like slow-motion puzzles and “lightspeed destruction” which sounds pretty cool actually. We were sort of right with our guess that it wouldn’t just be a new epsidoe in an existing Angry Birds game.

Currently the official date of release for Angry Birds Space will be March 22nd and will most likely launch on Android and iOS first. There is an official website for this which you can check out along with the teaser trailer video above as well. Rovio plans to release more details in before the launch so we will be keeping an eye out for those.
