There is a fair amount to talk about today regarding the Amazon App Store for Android. Not only do we have a rather good selection of games on sale for this week during their usual weekly deals on Android games, but today’s free app is also pretty good and to top it all off, Amazon’s App Store is celebrating turning one year old.
First let us just dive right into this week’s deals on Android games. Pretty much every game being offered on sale this week happens to be pretty solid so you really can’t go wrong with picking one or two of them up. This week’s deals are:

Today’s free game is actually the original version of Trial Xtreme 2 as well. The ‘Winter’ version is a winter themed edition of the original game that does come with some new features and tracks. Trial Xtreme 2 will have you busting out big tricks while grabbing some big air on your dirt bike through a bunch of different maps and setting, a lot of which tend to be urban environments. Normally this game would cost $1.99 but today it is free for anyone with access to the Amazon App Store.
Lastly, Android and Me are reporting that Amazon is celebrating the first birthday of their App Store for Android. They will be offering weekly deals on games (outside of the normal weekly deals) which are discounted at a much greater rate. This will be going on for the next 7 days, each day offering up a different title that will be heavily discounted. Today’s title is Popcap’s Plants vs Zombies, both the Kindle Fire and the normal versions have been marked down to $0.99 which is 67% off.
