Google Play no longer displays third-party apps

As hardened Android users, I’m sure you noticed a little bug that has been around for a good while. Whenever you would download an app from a third-party such as the Amazon Appstore, it would show up in Google Play as if you purchased it from there. With the latest Google Play update, that issue no longer exists.

This bug was particularly annoying because you would be prompted to update the app within Google Play. If you didn’t purchase the app from Google Play, you could not download the update. For those who sideload apps or download apps from multiple sources, they may not remember where they originally obtained it. Google Play just made things more confusing.

An email sent to Droid-life confirms that Google has fixed the problem. I’ve also noticed that Canabalt HD is no longer listed in my Google Play history like it was when I first downloaded the game from the Humble Bundle for Android.
