HTC One X and EVO 4G LTE delayed by US Customs over Apple Patent

Some rather bitter news today for anyone who was looking forward to getting an HTC One X or an EVO 4G LTE Android phone. Both phones, which we have talked about recently, have had their first shipment held up by US Customs over a patent that they might be infringing upon that Apple owns.

The Apple patent in question is #5,946,647 which deals with things like atomically converting phone numbers and addresses into click-able links. Due to this patent and the subsequent ban on HTC phones which was delay until April 19th, the shipment for the One X and EVO 4G LTE have been held up at customs pending investigation. How long will this delay be? Indefinitely.

For now, everyone has to wait until the review of both devices is complete before the decision is made as to whether the devices are indeed infringing on the patent or they are not. If they are not, they will be allowed into the U.S. once the investigation is complete.
