Incantor is a game that pairs a real wand to your smartphone

Another day, another Kickstarter project that needs your help to get off the ground. This time a company named Moveable Code is asking for $100,000 to fund the first release of its mobile game called Incantor: Magic Made Real. Incantor is unique because it uses a physical Bluetooth wand to connect to smartphones. The game was also made to behave like a real world MMO.

Trying to understand exactly how Incantor will play wasn’t the easiest thing for me, but I’ll try my best to explain. Basically, you’ll walk around in the real world with the wand in one hand and your phone strapped to your opposite arm. There will be 10 different types of wands at launch which have different strengths. For example, one wand may be good at healing, while another is better at dealing damage. Casting spells is done by performing specific gestures with the wand. You’ll learn different spells as time goes on.

Progression is handled by participating in the game’s 13 modes. There’s only going to be a few modes ready at launch though. Your phone is going to show you a tactical view of the battlefield, manage your spells, and provide various status updates. I’d imagine you’ll have to choose which spell works best for each specific situation.
