Google Nexus 7 tablet makes an appearance on Google Play in the assets

Well it seems all but confirmed that the Google Nexus 7 tablet which is being made by Asus will indeed be sold on the Google Play store, probably as soon as it is officially announced during Google I/O 2012. Along with this new picture taken from the Google Play store assets, we do get a quick glimpse as to what the UI will look like.

This was all found out thanks to someone who apparently has a little free time on their hands and was fiddling around with the URL of the Galaxy Nexus banner on the Google Play store. While it doesn’t look a whole lot different from what Ice Cream Sandwich currently looks like, there is now room for six apps on the dock instead of the usual four.

This new user interface will most likely be the new version of Android named Jelly Bean (Android 4.1) which is expected to be officially announced this morning during the Google I/O 2012 Day 1 Keynote. You can view the keynote live over on the Android Developers events page or right here on DroidGamers when it goes live at 9:30AM PST.
