Square Enix quietly unleashes Final Fantasy III onto Android, surprises us all

We knew today was going to be a good day for gaming news once again but we didn’t expect to wake up to this little gem of a game being on the Google Play store. Actually it isn’t little and as a huge Final Fantasy fan myself, seeing Final Fantasy III on the Google Play store is a good way to start the day.

Yes, you read that right. The original Final Fantasy III have been ported over to Android finally. Not only is this a great game in the Final Fantasy series, it also confirms something that we have all been thinking since Square Enix announced all those games for Android during E3 2012 which is Square Enix is actually serious about bringing their games to Android.

Final Fantasy III Features:

– New and improved 3D visuals and story sequences only for Android
– Smooth, intuitive touch-panel controls specifically tailored to Square Enix’s smartphone RPGs
– Quicker browsing through the monster bestiary and other game records
– New visual designs for the Job Mastery Cards

While this is the original Final Fantasy III game from back in the early 1990s, the visuals have actually been improved upon, bringing a more 3D look to the classic RPG. Purists might not like that but hey, it’s Final Fantasy III on Android. The job mastery cards have also undergone a redesign in style as well.

Before jumping off of this page and heading over to Google Play or our Google Play synced catalog to grab a copy of Final Fantasy III for your Android device, there are two things you should know. One, it is a big file, weighing in at 172MB and secondly, it will set you back $15.99 which, as a Final Fantasy fan, you shouldn’t have a problem paying. Just keep in mind that the download will probably exceed the refund time.
