Epic Devs are looking to release a Kairosoft style game called Epic Pirate Story

It is pretty amazing to see still so very few developers taking the style of games Kairosoft have made and creating something similar, considering how utterly addictive and successful Kairosoft games have become. Well Epic Devs is planning to do just that with their upcoming game Epic Pirate Story.

According to a recent interview over at Gamerspot with Zwetan Letschew of Epic Devs, Epic Pirate Story will take all the good stuff from Dungeon Village and Epic Astro Story and combining them into one titles that is wrapped up with a pirate theme. While the style of game will be influenced from Kairosoft titles, there will be plenty of features in Epic Pirate Story that are not seen in Kairosoft games.

Yes there will be things that have never been seen in Kairosoft games. For example, while raiding another pirate party, you will rescue a governor’s daughter, which you can either trade for ransom to the governor of (the) city or ask her if she wants to join your party. The joining part and what follows, is something you have to see in the game yourself.

From the sound of things, Epic Pirate Story will lean a bit more towards the simulation / RPG type of game Dungeon Village is with things like raiding ships and other RPG elements while tying in sim style gameplay. You will be sailing around a lot, collecting loot which you can then equip, use for building improvements or, if it is food, eat it.

Reputation will play a role in this game as well just like it does in Kairosoft titles. As you and your crew gain more notoriety, more people will appear over time in your village and more quests will open up for you to complete. There will be 13 different types of residents that will eventually show up in your town.

As of right now Epic Pirate Story is slated for release sometime in the next two months and will be available for Android devices running Android 2.3+. No word just yet on what pricing will be. Check out the full interview over at Gamerspot which is linked below.
