Zachtronics Industries bring their PC-based puzzle game SpaceChem Mobile to Android

Developed by Zachtronics Industries, SpaceChem Mobile was actually originally released onto the PC for gamers who enjoy puzzle games to rack their brain over. Now, after a lot of work, the developers have brought this award winning indie game to Android as well.

SpaceChem Mobile is an interesting game in that you will be playing as a Reactor Engineer who will be challenged regarding his knowledge of the fake science that exists within the game’s world. You work for SpaceChem, a leading company in the field of synthesizing chemicals. You will have to construct factories in order to not only harvest the proper resources but also to manufacture the final chemical product.

It is just about producing the final product though. You will also have to figure out the most efficient way to build your factories in order to meet the quotas that are set as well as having to out perform the other engineers. Factories can end up being rather elaborate the further you get in the game. You’ll end up learning a whole new science that doesn’t actually exist.

Aside from the fact that SpaceChem is a rather unique game in theme, there really isn’t a puzzle game like this available right now on Android. SpaceChem Mobile is a faithful recreation of the PC game but designed for tablets and even includes a full selection of player-created “ResearchNet” puzzles. However, if you want to see if it works on your phone, you can do so by downloading the demo version first. Picking up the full version will set you back $5.99 which is nothing if you like challenging puzzle games that are unique.
