More details about Phosphor Games’ upcoming Unreal Engine game called Horn

Back during the Zynga press even in June, 2012, Phosphor Games announced their next project which is to be called Horn. At that time there was very little information about Horn except for the fact it looked visually amazing. For those of you unfamiliar with Phosphor Games, they were responsible for the great Silent Hill-esque game called Dark Meadow.

Horn looks like it will try to take on Infinity Blade but, as PocketGamer put it, they have added a flare of Zelda to the mix. Another neat item to note is that Horn is being developed using the Unreal Engine, just as the Infinity Blade series. Much like in Dark Meadow and Infinity Blade, combat is locked in where you will be using swipe gestures to attack and dodge but on top of that, unlike either of those games, Horn will come with a full interactive environment in the third-person perspective which resembles games like Zelda and Fable.

The story behind Horn is that you play as a young blacksmith apprentice, named Horn, who wakes up to find his village overrun by fantastical monsters. It turns out that these monsters are actually cursed people which, your goal is, to free them from their curse and save them. You are also treated to having a sidekick tag along with you who apparently doesn’t like to cooperate much of the time, or at least complain a lot.

As for when Horn will be available on ‘mobile devices’, which most likely means iOS than Android later, it will arrive sometime this month. Zynga will be publishing Horn so it should be interesting to see what, if anything, they add in terms of social elements.
