Broken Sword – The Serpent’s Curse up on Kickstarter looking for funding

The Broken Sword series of point-and-click adventures games have long been a fan favorite for PC gamers who like that genre. Android gamers were treated to a mobile version of one of the games called Broken Sword: Director’s Cut. Well after a bit of a break, a whole new addition to the series is hopefully on the way and the developers have put up a Kickstarter campaign to grab the funds to finish it.

This new addition to the series is called Broken Sword: The Serpent’s Curse and when it is completed, it will be launched on a variety of platforms right away including Android. Interestingly enough, when we first looked at the campaign, we didn’t see anything mentioning what platforms it would arrive on which is why we didn’t post about it last week when it started. We figured it would end up being PC (which it does state on the campaign description) and, maybe down the road, mobile as well (our guess).

However, we now have confirmation that it will be coming to not only PC but Mac, Linux, iOS and Android sometime in early 2013. In this game, you are in Paris hunting down the mysterious disappearance of a painting worth a fair amount of cash. You won’t be just isolated to Paris though as both George and Nico will be traveling Europe to solve the mystery.

For those of you who enjoyed the first mobile installment of the series called Broken Sword: Director’s Cut, you might want to drop a couple of bucks to help get this funded. Right now the campaign is sitting at a little over $271K of their $400K goal with plenty of time left to go, to the tune of 25 days.

Thanks to Revolution Software for confirming the Android release.
