Monday Morning Humor: Molyneux’s Curiosity gets a new name, next game announced

We have talked about Peter Molyneux’s upcoming virtual piñata game coming in September a few times already, mostly because of the humor we find behind the entire thing. As we reported last week, the game was delayed from its August 22nd release date to sometime in September due to NASA having an issue with the game’s name being Curiosity. Well Mr. Molyneux has come up with a new name, not very original, but still somewhat new.

For those of you planning on playing this virtual piñata game in the hopes of finding out the meaning of life or winning whatever the amazing super fantastic awesome prize inside the cube is, you will now be able to find the game on Google Play when it is released under the name Curiosity: What’s in the cube. Incredibly original isn’t it? Since the name isn’t just Curiosity now, there isn’t a problem with NASA who apparently, according to Mr. Molyneux, had issues with the game being called that since their Mars Rover is also named Curiosity.

Moving right along, Peter Molyneux has also announced what his next game will be after Curiosity. It will be called Cooperation and, according to him, might not even be considered a game or perhaps more of a social game, which is basically what Curiosity is already. However, Molyneux won’t go into detail as to what this game will actually be. Perhaps it will be everyone chipping away at a triangle instead of a cube. While he declined to expand on what this new game would be, he may have dropped a hint in the following statement:

It would be competitive in nature and noted that he’s always found Tug of War to be an interesting social experiment – Peter Molyneux, virtual piñata expert from 22 Cans Studio

You can be sure that whatever Cooperation turns out to be, there will most likely be something completely absurd with it just like Curiosity and it’s £50,000 in-game purchase available for anyone who feels like wasting a silly amount of money in order to do a lot of damage to the cube.
