Zynga unleashes two new games, Zombie Swipeout and Twist Pilot, onto Google Play

Without much fanfare, Zynga has released two new games onto Google Play. The first is Zombie Swipeout, a Fruit Ninja-inspired game developed by the same guys behind ZombieSmash. The second is Twist Pilot, an action puzzler created by Crash Lab which also happens to be the second game (after Horn) to be published under the Zynga partners program for Android.

Zombie Swipeout, which has actually already been out for iOS devices a few months ago, maintains a similar aesthetic to ZombieSmash. Here, instead of smashing zombies, you swipe them a la Fruit Ninja. Get combos, collect coins, unlock new weapons and buy power-ups. There are also weekly tournaments to compete in, where you can compete against your friends.

Zombie Swipeout’s features:

– Whose machete swing reigns supreme? Compete against your friends and earn medals in weekly tournaments.
– Machetes too cliche? Unlock and equip weapons with different abilities like the Head Slapper and the Prince of Cleaves.
– Level up and unlock cool powerups like grenades, liquid nitrogen, and more to combat the hordes. Zombies hate powerups!
– Whoops! Keep Joey alive or the game is over . . . or is it? Rescue Joey feature lets you fight on!

Twist Pilot has you playing as Phil who is constantly rotating. Your job is to guide him to the finishing point without touching the sides and making your way through narrow gaps, with spiders, locked doors and huge moving blocks being among the obstacles that you’d face along the way.

Phil is controlled by simply dragging your fingers across the screen. There are golden rings scattered throughout the levels, and collecting all of these and reaching the finishing point in time will earn your stars. Heck, there’s also a platinum mode for the more hardcore players to pit their skills against the developers best times.

Zombie Swipeout is available for free. However, it is the typical freemium game you get these days, with in-app purchases for two different in-game currencies. There is also an emphasis put on social media sharing, and ads are present too. Twist Pilot is however the complete opposite. For $0.99, you get the full experience with zero IAPs to boot. This is surprising, since well, we’re talking about Zynga here, but anyway it’s a nice change of scenery. Here’s to hoping we get more fully premium games from them in the future.
