OUYA will indeed be arriving with Jelly Bean when it launches next year

So a little OUYA news for you today, since we haven’t had much in awhile. Actually we get OUYA news all the time, mostly related to games coming to it and we will be doing a weekly round-up every week soon to talk about them. However, today’s news is more about the system itself and the company building the Android-based console gaming system has confirmed that it will be coming with Jelly Bean when it arrives next year.

The official version will be Android 4.2 which was revealed a few days ago amidst Google’s announcement of the upcoming onslaught of Nexus devices on Nov. 13th, 2012. Apparently OUYA has been talking with developers regarding the porting of high-resolution games to the big screen, optimizing controls and now Android 4.2 support to ensure a smooth launch. This means, for those of you curious or developing for OUYA, that games and apps should be ready to run at 720p, 1080p, and 1080i resolutions.

As far as we know, OUYA is still slated to launch sometime in March 2013 if all goes according to plan, which it looks like it is.
