Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition gets its first official trailer

One game we are eager to get our hands on is the upcoming Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition from Beamdog. For those of you who have missed our previous coverage regarding this game, we’ve been following its progress since it was first announced being under development. Now the game looks to be in the final stages of development and testing and should be arriving fairly soon.

Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition is a revamping and re-imaging of the original Baldur’s Gate game along with the Tales of the Sword Coast expansion. On top of the original content coming with this game, it will also feature new original content as well aside from the classic game and the expansion. All of this will be wrapped up in new HD visuals for fans of the series to enjoy. Baldur’s Game: Enhanced Edition will also support cross-platform multplayer as well so you will be able to team up with your friends who are playing on other platforms. Right now though it is unknown if multiplayer will be available at launch or in an updated shortly after the game is released.

When the game is released it will come with a $9.99 price tag and there will be in-game purchases but they are pretty optional and more just extra stuff should you want it. All content will be available to play when you pay the $9.99, things like extra characters and other secondary items are what will be available through the game’s IAPs. As far as we know, Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition is still slated for release on November 28th, 2012. Check out the trailer above to see the game in action.

Edit: Just a heads up, as Luke pointed out in the comments below, that Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition is now labeled as TBA in regards to when it will be released onto Android. Previously it was mentioned that it would be on the 28th of November. We’ve contacted Beamdog to get clarification on it.
