Sega’s new management sim, Football Manager Handheld 2013, has arrived

Fans of football, otherwise known as Soccer here in North America, and those of you who enjoyed Sega’s previous release of Football Manager Handheld 2012 now have a new installment into the series to grab. Football Manager Handheld 2013 has arrived onto the shores of Android and brings with it up-to-date player data and enhanced gameplay.

Sports Interactive and Sega have joined forces again to bring a new addition to their football management sim that almost didn’t happen after Sports Interactive went public about their finding regarding the piracy of Football Manager Handheld 2012 when it was released. There was no definitive answer as to whether this 2013 would ever make it to Android but it looks as though both companies have made the right choice.

Football Manager Handheld 2013 Features:

• Fully up-to-date league/player/competition data to football season 2012/13.
• Player photos now included for licensed leagues.
• New playable leagues – Northern Ireland / Republic of Ireland.
• Player comparison & form updates.
• Media / news / match improvements.

In total there are now 14 playable leagues for you to sink your teeth into. These leagues are Australia, Belgium, Brazil, England, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Northern Ireland, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, Scotland, Spain and Wales. As with the previous game, you can play for five minutes or 5 hours. You’ll assume full control of transfers, training, tactics and managing your team live during match days as well in the Hot-Seat Mode or jump back into Challenge Mode where you will try to achieve a series of particular short-term scenarios, each with a clear goal to complete.

If you are ready to jump right back into the Football Manager series, you can snap up a copy of Football Manager Handheld 2013 for $9.99. There also happens to be optional in-game purchases, which are totally optional and don’t restrict the game at all, where you can do things like instantly expanding your stadium, attract a wealthy ‘Sugar Daddy’ chairman or buy additional challenges in Challenge Mode for a small fee.
