Temple Run 2 will indeed be arriving next week on January 24th

Yesterday we talked about Imangi Studios’ new game which happens to be a sequel to their rather popular continuous running game Temple Run. Aside from all the details about the game we talked about, word on the street was that Temple Run 2 would be hitting the Google Play store sometime next week.

Well it appears that it will really be arriving next week according to an interview with the developers by The Guardian. During the interview the developers let it be known that the Android version would indeed be arriving next week on January 24th, 2013 to be exact.

For those of you who missed yesterday’s article about Temple Run 2, this new game features a more natural and gradual turning system with the environment being more curvy and hilly. There are also completely new environments you will be running through such as more forests, mines and clifftops. There also happens to be three additional new characters you will be able to play as.

Rounding off all of that is the ability to steer mine carts when in the mines section or fly down zip lines in the new forest areas. When Temple Run 2 launches it will be free-to-play just like the original with optional in-game purchases.
