Resident Evil 4 hits Google Play but only in Japan

This type of news seems to be following a pattern this week unfortunately in regards to Capcom and recent game releases. Yesterday they launched Resident Evil 4 onto the Google Play store but it appears it is only for residents of Japan. This is the same game we talked about last year that was exclusive to LG devices in South Korea.

From what we can tell from the broken up translation of the Google Play listing that Google Translate gives us, Resident Evil 4 comes with two game modes: Story Mode and Mercenary Mode. Story Mode is where you follow the actual storyline of the game as you play through it. Mercenary Mode appears to be a time challenge where you need to kill as many enemies as you can in a set amount of time.

This game also features the ability to aim down the sight of your gun for effective sniping and power-ups that you can get from helping survivors. Visually the game doesn’t look all that bad either.

For those of you interested in picking up Resident Evil 4, you’ll need Market Enabler to accomplish that as well as the ability to read Japanese. If you can do that, Resident Evil 4 will cost you about $2.78 to buy. Sort of makes you want to move to Japan or at least learn Japanese doesn’t it?
