The 90’s Arcade Racer gets successfully funded on Kickstarter

For those of you who used to spend hours and hours playing video games in arcades in the not so far gone past, you may remember how the racing games used to be back then. Well a two-man team of game developers wants to bring that arcade racing experience back to life across multiple platforms with Android being one of them with their game The 90s Arcade Racer.

While the name is a bit dry and could very well be changed down the road, The 90s Arcade Racer is a straight up nostalgic flashback to the days of racing games in the arcade. Everything from the title screen, how the cars are designed and the tracks you will soon be racing on are very reminiscent of the old arcade racing games. Of course the visuals won’t be a rough as they were back then.

The two-man team have quite a bit of experience under their belt as well, having worked on projects such as VVVVVV, Cave Story and 1001 Spikes. Now they are bringing their skills to this upcoming racing game as well.

Even though the Kickstarter campaign has surpassed its goal of £10,000 with funding sitting around £12,743, there is still four days left until the campaign ends should you want to toss a couple of bucks at these guys which will help them reach their stretch goals.
