Games Workshop’s classic tabletop game Talisman could be arriving this month for tablets

Nomad Games has been working on bringing the classic Talisman tabletop game from Games Workshop to Android and iOS tablet over the past little while and it looks like it is almost ready to be released. Officially called Talisman Prologue, this game will be a full single player campaign that is being created from the original tabletop game.

For those of you who played this as a tabletop game, Talisman Prologue will use the 4th Edition rules of the original game. If you’re worried about the game being stale after completing the campaign once, you will be happy to know that the enemies are randomized so each time you fight your way from the outside of the board to the very inner space will be different. The goal for this campaign will be to successfully reach the Crown of Command.

Each space a player lands on will require you to draw a card and based on what that card turns out to be, you’ll need to act appropriately whether it is a new item of a monster you have to fight. This random card drawing will also keep the game fresh and different each time you play through the game.

In total there will be 10 characters and 50 quests when Talisman Prologue is released. Even though the game will feature a full single player campaign at launch, Nomad Games is planning to bring multiplayer to the game in a future update. The iOS version of this game is set to launch on February 28th, 2013. The Android version doesn’t have a confirmed date just yet but could be released at the same time.
