Nexon throws some cash at Robert Bowling’s Robotoki studio

Nexon has announced that they have thrown some cash at Robotoki in the form of a ‘strategic investment’. For those of you who have been following us for awhile now, you might remember us talking about the former Creative Strategist of the Call of Duty Robert Bowling’s new game development studio and their upcoming game for Android and OUYA called Human Element.

Human Element will be a zombie apocalypse game that features a lot of unique gameplay mechanics that makes it a very different type of zombie killing game. This game will feature three different classes players can choose to play as along with three different game modes to choose to play through: Survive Alone, Survive with a Partner, Survive with a Child. How you choose to start in the world will affect the entire game from start to finish along with all the choices you make in the game.

The investment from Nexon is to basically get the company into another avenue of cross-platform gaming but with Triple-A quality games like Robotoki’s Human Element title.

We are thrilled to partner with Robotoki to develop cutting-edge multi-platform, cross-genre games. Robert Bowling`s creativity and talent is evidenced by his track record of success, and we look forward to collaborating with the entire Robotoki team to deliver inventive, multi-dimensional gaming experiences to consumers in North America and around the world. – Seungwoo Choi, President and Chief Executive Officer of Nexon.

Perhaps with this new investment, which was for an undisclosed amount, we will actually see Human Element arrive for Android and OUYA before the current ‘sometime in 2015″ release time frame the game currently has.
