Furfur & Nublo Quick Review: A decent but repetitive puzzler platformer

Furfur & Nublo is a puzzle platformer by Devilish Games where you must guide two characters around a stage and get them to a Magical Interdimensional Gate. Furfur is a bouncy ball looking character and his partner is Nublo. Nublo is circular character that can float and flatten into a platform. As you can probably guess by now this is how the game play works. You job is to use both characters in tandem to get reach these Magical Gateways and get to the next stage.

Name: Furfur & Nublo | Developer: Devilish Games | Category: Platformer | Players: 1 | Version: 1.0.131 | Size: 19 MB | Price: $0.99 |

This team effort style puzzler has been seen in a several games in the past, and doesnt add anything new to the concept. Move Furfur to the edge of a platform and bounce across to the next. Can’t make it to the next platform? Float Nublo to spot x and the switch to Furfur and bounce on Nublo to next platform. Wash rinse and repeat. Don’t get me wrong there are plenty of levels and there are new and challenging stages to navigate through as you advance, but I found the stages fairly repetitive on the average and to me that made it slightly boring for me. I will say that I did enjoy the art style, with the silhouette style animation, and music and sound was pretty catchy.

All in all I think that the game itself was an interesting concept and the art direction was great, but because of the level design and the repetitiveness I feel that it didn’t pull me in to the game. The game plays very smoothly, offers some great stylish art, and has a good musical score and sound. While the repetitive game play might put some people off at $0.99 cents it isn’t going to make a dent in your pocket to try it. Those who are die hard fans of puzzle platformers will more then likely enjoy this title it just wasn’t for me.
