6waves brings pirates, plundering and player vs. player in Raft Pirates

6waves has published their newest title for Android gamers to sink their teeth into called Raft Pirates, a game which we’ve talked about a few times in the past already. The release of Raft Pirates today actually comes a bit later then the original launch date that was schedule for around March 7th, 2013.

In case you missed our previous coverage about Raft Pirates, this game was developed by Big Blue Bubble and is a pretty interesting game in that players will be in charge of building their own raft and customizing it with different structures. Think of this game as a city building action-strategy game, but on water and with pirates. Players will encounter enemy ships and other players in-game that are also looking for glory and precious resources to plunder. Raft Pirates supports a fluid playing field that changes in real time and with other real players for you to combat. This is an MMO game so everyone playing will be in-game and available for plundering at any time. This also means you will be available for other players as well.

Raft Pirates Features:

• It’s a real MMO! (not a fake one)
• Collect salvage to build a mighty pirate ship!
• Take real risks against real players. Their loss is your gain!
• Soooo many weapons to build!
• Dice-based combat!
• It’s real time! So while you’re away, your robot crew will defend the ship until you get back.
• Search for sunken treasure to build the strongest raft with 33 different weapons and nine material types.
• Gather items to upgrade ships or purchase items in the shop with in-game currencies including diamonds and gold.
• Fight through five zones with five bosses each.

Boss fights work a bit differently in Raft Pirates than in your typical MMO where you would have to go into some type of dungeon and run through it in order to get to the boss of the dungeon and hopefully kill him. In this game each zone has a boss that appears out in the open on your map. However, to get to the next zone you have to defeat the boss in your current zone.

Raft Pirates is a pretty unique little game and for those of you who are fans of MMOs and strategy games, this is probably one you will want to check out. Downloading Raft Pirates off of Google Play will cost you nothing. There are optional IAPs for extra gold and resources should you need the extra help.
