There are plenty of emulators already available for Android gamers to use when looking to play some of your more old school favorites. Pretty much a majority of the consoles and computer systems already have at least one emulator available for people to use. Well you can add another one to the list and that is the VICE Commodore VIC-20 emulator which has just been launched as an Alpha stage build.
For those of you who have been fans of the perverted little man known as Leisure Suit Larry over the past couple of decades and who have been looking forward to the upcoming Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards HD remake, it looks like the wait may finally be drawing closer to an end. Originally slated for release in 2012 after a rather successful Kickstarter campaign, the game’s release was eventually delayed until 2013.
Some more news regarding the Android-powered console OUYA but this time it isn’t about the hardware or anything like that. Ratrod Studios has announced a new addition to their Drift Mania franchise is on the way to multiple mobile platforms including Android sometime in the early part of Summer 2013. Yesterday is a new point-and-click, click-to-move or click-and-hold-and-select adventure game (whatever the kids say these days) by Pendulo Studios that has been out for a while but is new to me. It instantly felt like a newer adventure game, a genre that many gamers remember only from the late 80s or 90s. I have really enjoyed watching the mobile market work hand-in-hand with the point-and-click adventure world and hope to see more blockbusters like Yesterday come out. The game might be short-ish, only spanning several hours (or several days if you play at the glacial pace I do) but it packs in almost too many details and intense moments.
Uppercut Games has brought their robot-filled third-person shooter EPOCH over to Android. Developed using Unreal Engine 3, EPOCH takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where robots battle it out for survival. Along the way player might even be able to piece together the events that took place which ended up having the old world end and leave nothing but ruins in its place.
Another week is coming to a close and therefor it is time for Nvidia to post another video regarding another game playing on their Android-powered handheld gaming device called Project Shield. As you might be already expecting, the game looks pretty damn good playing on Project Shield.
