Action-sim game Star Command to arrive next month for Android?

Warballoon Games’ upcoming Action-sim game Star Command which had a fairly successful Kickstarter campaign and has been in development for what seems like quite some time may actually be nearing release according to a few tweets over on the company’s Twitter account recently. While the release date of the game has been pushed back a few times, it finally looks like that may be coming to an end and that the game may finally be coming out.

According to the tweets the developers released over the past few days, the game has already been submitted to Apple for their review which, if all goes well, means that the game will hit iTune in the very near future. While this is great news for iOS gamers out there who have been waiting for Star Command to finally be released, us Android gamers have a slightly longer wait to deal with.

Should Apple’s review process take its usual week or two time period to approve a game for launch, that means Star Command will be available for iOS devices this month. So what about Android? Well according to a tweet yesterday, the Android version has been delayed about a month due to the company wanting to test the game on as many devices as possible before releasing it to the horde of people on Android waiting to lose a good portion of their immediate life span playing Star Command.

For those of you unfamiliar with this game and haven’t been following our coverage of it, Star Command features plenty of retro style pixel art and is a sim game that isn’t too different from those Kairosoft games you’ve already spent plenty of time playing. The difference is that Star Command goes into further detail in a lot of ways such as each crew member of your ship having specific skills you will need to utilize and aliens to fight off. The game goes even deeper than that actually including aliens trying to hijack your ship and crew members with personalities.

In the developer’s usual sense of humor which we’ve actually come to enjoy, they stated officially that ” (the) Android will be delayed about a month while we test the 10,000 devices” when asked about a simultaneous release on both iOS and Android devices. Clearly everyone knows that Android only has about 8,000 devices to test their game on. In all seriousness though, it finally looks like Star Command is heading for release. It just means that the earliest we will get it will be in May if the above quote is true and all goes well.
