Rovio announces Accounts, a new feature for cross-device gameplay

Rovio has announced a new feature that will start rolling out to their games called Accounts. What this nifty little feature does is allow people who play any of Rovio’s games to save their progress at any time and pick up where they left off on another device regardless if it is a phone or tablet.

This should make Angry Birds fanatics and general Rovio game fans quite happy as you won’t have to start over a particular game when you, for example, upgrade to a new device. Instead you can install the games you play, load up the saved data and continue playing where you left off.

The moment you create your Accounts account, it will begin saving the game data as you progress through whatever Rovio game you happen to be playing at that time. Logging into a game will give you the option to load up your saved data. As of right now there is no set time frame as to when this new feature will become available, only that it will gradually roll out to Angry Birds games and other Rovio titles over the coming months.
