Last week the Android gaming-centric tablet Wikipad made its way through the FCC making the tablet’s release quite possibly happening soon. Well apparently that ‘soon’ now has an official date for the tablet’s US launch while a worldwide launch will follow shortly afterwards.
The Wikipad has been delayed a few times in the past for redesigning, going from a 10″ tablet to a 7″ tablet, a dual-core to a quad-core and so on. While the company says the 10″ tablet is still in the pipeline for release, they went with the 7″ one first. Hardware-wise, the Wikipad will come with a 7″ (IPS display) screen, 16GB of on-board storage, MicroSD card slot, Tegra 3 chipset and, of course, the actual removable physical gaming controls on either side of the tablet.
Pricing is still at $249 for the Wikipad and the tablet is actually going to be launching pretty quick as the company plans to have it available for consumers to purchase in the US on June 11th, 2013 with a worldwide release to follow later this Summer.
