Two Toshiba Tegra 4 tablets launching in July: The eXcite Pro and the eXcite Write

Computex 2013 is well under way now and Toshiba has come out to announce that they will have two Tegra 4 powered Android tablets hitting the market next month called the Toshiba eXcite Pro and the Toshiba eXcite Write. When it comes to hardware, both tablets are pretty much identical to each other.

While both tablets will sport a Tegra 4 quad-core chipset teamed up with the 72-core GeForce GPU running at 1.8GHz, both tablets also feature the same amount of RAM, the same size and resolution, the same front and rear cameras and are, for the most part, almost identical to one another. Both tablets will also ship with Android 4.2 loaded onto them as well.

Toshiba eXcite Pro and Write hardware specs:

– 1.8 GHz Tegra 4 chipset
– 2 GB of RAM
– 10.1″ PixelPure display running at 2560×1600 resolution
– Bluetooth Keyboard Cover
– DTS and harman/kardon stereospeaker
– 1.2MP front-facing camera with an 8MP rear-facing camera
– Android 4.2

As for storage, we can assume that both tablets will have 16GB of internal storage available and all the appropriate slots to expand that. The difference between the two tablets is software-based as the eXcite Write is more geared towards using for work, coming with a Digitizer and TruNote software.

Both Tegra 4 tablets are slated to launch sometime in July 2013 although a specific date hasn’t been mentioned just yet. As for pricing, the Toshiba eXcite Pro weights in at $500 while the eXcite Writer will command a $600 price tag.
