Magic 2014 Duels of the Planeswalkers has finally arrived onto Android

We’ve been covering the progress of Magic 2014: Duels of the Planewalkers since March of this year when it was announced that it would be coming to Android, not just iOS like previous Magic The Gathering games. Magic 2014 is the first official Magic The Gathering game for Android devices and now the wait is over for it to finally be released.

In case you’ve not heard of Magic The Gathering for any particular reason, this game originated many years ago as a physical TCG that has always been incredibly popular and even has competitions and championships held for cash prizes. Eventually the game also got a digital version made but iOS was the only mobile platform to be graced with a Magic The Gathering game.

Magic 2014 Features:

• 3 decks, each with 5 unlockable cards
• Single-player campaign across the plane of Shandalar
• One Planeswalker duel
• Sealed Play mode; explore a deck building experience

Players will create their own decks just as though they were playing the real game and will square off against other players. There is a single-player campaign for those of you new to Magic The Gathering which you can play through to get the hang of things. As we mentioned back in May, Slivers and Sealed Play is also available right now.

There is plenty of additional content available for purchase as well such as:

• 7 additional decks to unlock
• 250+ additional cards unlockable through play
• 4 deadly opponents, including the Planeswalker Chandra Nalaar
• 18 additional Campaign levels across the planes of Ravnica, Alara, Innistrad and Zendikar, plus 11 revenge matches
• 10 puzzling challenges
• Ad Hoc one-on-one Multiplayer play
• Two-Headed Giant and Custom Game modes
• Access to deck key and foil conversion in-app purchases
• Additional downloadable content as it becomes available

If you’re a Magic The Gathering fan, you’ve probably already downloaded this off of Google Play. If you haven’t yet, you can do so at any time for free. To really get into the meat of the game, you will need to unlock some of the additional content though.
