The Ravenmark turn-based strategy games are officially coming to Android in the near future

Considered by many to be the best turn-based strategy games for iOS, the Ravenmark series of games will officially be arriving onto Android in the near future. We got in touch with Witching Hour Studios who are the developers behind Ravenmark: Mercenaries and Ravenmark: Scourge of Estellion who confirmed that both games will be making their way to Android soon.

If you used to, or still do, own an iOS device and dig turn-based strategy games then you probably know all about both of these titles. However, for those of you unfamiliar with these games, the Ravenmark series of games are turn-based strategy titles that feature large single-player campaigns with Mercenaries also featuring multiplayer as well. Players will control a commander, in the case of Ravenmark: Mercenaries this is the head mercenary, who commands and directs the brigades on the battlefield.

Ravenmark: Mercenaries come with a resource system so you can only hire the amount of troops that you can afford. Commanders have their own special abilities as well which can be used to give you an edge in battle. Interestingly enough, some brigades are able to just wander as they see fit with no captain to guide them. This could be favorable for you or turn into a problem. Ravenmark: Scourge of Estellion is a single-player game that is more story driven and doesn’t have the resource and hiring system like Mercenaries has.

Both Ravenmark games expand even more with features like Auras and Traits that can make your forces stronger. It all depends on how you set everything up and use your commanders and troops. Both are very in-depth but extremely enjoyable games, especially if you’re a fan of turn-based strategy titles.

So when can you get your hands on either of these games? Right now there is a loose time frame of the end of September for Ravenmark: Mercenaries to launch on Android. The developers are also working on Ravenmark: Scourge of Estellion and are hoping to have that game out as soon as possible and as close as possible to Ravenmark: Mercenaries release. Of course this all depends on how the rest of development goes.

Like the developers told us, this is the time frame they are shooting for but really “the game is done when it’s done.” Either way, definitely some very good news.
