Residents in Canada will soon be able to use Kickstarter to try to fund their projects

While this news isn’t 100% related to Android gaming directly, it does affect possible Android game developers who live in Canada and have been wanting to crowdfund a future game that they would like to work on. Today Kickstarter has announced that it will begin accepting Kickstarter campaigns based out of Canada later this Summer.

Canadian developers haven’t been totally left out in the cold when it comes to crowdfunding. IndieGoGo, one of Kickstarters main competitors, has been allowing Canadian-based campaigns on their site for awhile now. Kickstarter opening up their site to Canadian projects (or in our case Android game devleopers in Canada) was pretty much the next logical step for the company.

As for all the gritty details about this new access for Canadians, the company hasn’t let out too much just yet although it should work just like it does for campaigns based out of the USA and UK. Kickstarter has put up an official, and rather fancy, landing page for those of you interested in learning more before the service officially opens up for you.
