As many of our regular readers know, we’ve been giving out early access to Spacetime Games’ (formerly Spacetime Studios) newest title called Battle Dragons. This game hit the Google Play store as a limited soft launch with residents of only a few countries being the only people able to download the game from Google Play. Well now this soft launch testing phase is over an Battle Dragons has been officially launched worldwide for everyone.
In case you missed our previous coverage of Battle Dragons, this is one of those city building multiplayer strategy games. You see a lot of these types of games available for people who enjoy playing games through their browser on a PC or laptop. Technically this are MMO games since there usually are thousands of people playing them at any given time. So Spacetime Games decided to try a different route and instead of making another MMORPG, they decided to go with this type of game.
Players will have to build up their cities which means you’ll need to be harvesting resources as well. Along the way you’ll be able to research new technology which will help you grow in a variety of ways. Of course you’ll need an army as well for both attacking your enemies and defending yourself from attacks. However in this game your army is made up of different types of dragons.
Battle Dragons Features:
• Build a Dragon Fortress with over 43 different buildings
• Raise an army from 10 different types of booty-kickin’ Dragon units that will pillage and plunder as you command. You can upgrade them all too.
• Defend your Dragon Fortress with 13 different types of structures that can be upgraded all the way up to bad mamma jamma status – and as J.R.R.R.R.R.R. Tolkien and George R.R.R.R.R.R. Martin so notably wrote, “Bad mamma jamma Dragons are awesome.”
• Want to start a Dragon Tribe with friends? Good, you should. You can help each other by speeding up upgrades and boosting production of Gold and Sheep (yes, we said Sheep). Get awesome Dragon stuff faster.
• Join with Facebook friends to help each other do all that speedup and boost stuff we just mentioned
• Your Dragon tribe gets to fight against other Dragon tribes in a leathery winged battle for supremacy. That’s a Constitutional right, by the way, not a privilege.
• Optimized for all the latest displays on all these fancy space age devices we all carry around now. If they’re going to go through the trouble of making these things, we might as well take advantage of it, right? Pixels are a terrible thing to waste.
• Takes full advantage of Integrated Google Play game services!
Battle Dragons actually comes with a lot more building types that you can construct for your city than most games of this nature. Usually these types of games have anywhere from 10 to 25 building types. Battle Dragons comes with 43 so there are plenty of options available when building your city. This also means that there is a bit more depth to how you can build up your strength and army. Everything is pretty much upgradable in this game as well including your dragons.
For those of you who haven’t been playing this game already and have been waiting for its official release, you can now download Battle Dragons off of Google Play for free. Of course there will be optional IAPs should you want to take advantage of them.
