Angry Birds Star Wars II gets a new trailer featuring Ian McDiarmid

Back in July Rovio announced that they would be bringing a sequel to their Angry Birds Star Wars game to mobile. This new game, which will more than likely be the biggest Angry Birds games so far, will have 30 different characters involved and an entire line of toys the moment the game is released. The toys will be along the lines of the Skylander series which will use Hasbro’s Telepod technology and there will be one for each character in the game.

This means when you buy one of these toys in real life, you can place these figures onto your phone or tablet and your device’s camera will scan your character of choice directly into the game, allowing you to select new characters on the fly. Players will also be able to choose whether they are on the Dark Side or the Light Side in this game.

Rovio has begun what will surely be a series of trailers to build hype for Angry Birds Star Wars II which is slated to arrive onto Android and iOS on September 19th, 2013. This trailer features Ian McDiarmid who, if you follow Star Wars at all, played Emperor Palpatine in all the movies. He will be doing the voice for one of the pigs in this game which admittedly is actually pretty neat.
