Final Fantasy Tactics story director working on two new games for mobile devices

While this may not be more Final Fantasy themed news, which we seem to have been getting a lot of lately, this news does have the story director of one of the Final Fantasy games in it. Apparently the creator of Final Fantasy Tactics is working on two new games, both of which will be coming to Android and iOS.

Final Fantasy Tactics story director Yasumi Matsuno has left Level-5 games and has begun working with Playdek on a new strategy game called Unsung Story which will be coming to a variety of platforms. Joystiq got confirmation that Android is included in the list of platforms that this game will be arriving on.

Actually there will be two games coming in the Unsung Story franchise. There will be the original game and a second game called Unsung Story: Tale of the Guardians. What’s interesting about these games is that it will focus more on the normal people that were involved in the wars that happened back around Saxon Britain of the 5th to 8th centuries instead of focusing on the heroes.

Combat-wise Unsung Story: Tale of the Guardians will feature a similar turn-based combat system that Final Fantasy Tactics came with. Players will be able to select which country they want to play as before assuming control of that country and its leader before setting off to work with other countries in order to survive this rather war riddled period in time. Multiplayer will be arriving in this game as well although how that exactly will play out is still being worked on.

The second game, Unsung Story will be a card battle type of game. Unfortunately there isn’t a whole lot of details regarding this game just yet aside from the fact that it will arrive in 2014 and will be the first game out of the two to be released.
