Upcoming Game of Thrones series from TellTale Games will be a very big series

More news has come out about the upcoming Game of Thrones title that TellTale Games has announced they are working on. This will actually end up being a very big series of games and not just one title with TellTale Games mentioning as well that it will span over several years of releases.

Of course like most announcements regarding this franchise, little addition details have been released in today’s announcement as to what we can expect from the games. However this is being called a “multi-year, multi-title partnership” between TellTale Games and HBO regarding the upcoming Game of Thrones series. It’s also been confirmed that the series will be based off of the TV show and not the original novels.

Since the very beginning, Telltale’s goal has been to work alongside the most talented and respected forces in entertainment, bringing their worlds to the interactive space as no other game studio can. Working with HBO to develop a new game series based on Game of Thrones is a natural fit for our studio. This partnership will create an experience that will captivate the huge, global Game of Thrones audience. It will put them in control of the epic stories of warfare, intrigue, violence and revenge that we know and love. – Telltale CEO Dan Connors

As for platforms, the series will begin landing on PC, Mac and mobile devices in 2014. Whether that means Android and iOS or just iOS remains to be seen. As more information is released, we’ll be sure to post an update. Official press release below.
