Wikipad has decided to branch out in the gaming peripheral industry by announcing their newest product which is called the Gamevice. This particular gaming peripheral is pretty much as the name suggests – a detachable game controller that Android gamers can use with their Android devices.
Basically what the company has done is they have taken the idea of their gaming-centric Android tablet and the physical controls that it comes with, removed the actual tablet portion of it and crafted a portable game controller out of that which you can attach to your Android device of choice. The controller itself comes with all the buttons and joysticks you would want in a full game controller: Dual Analog Sticks, X, Y, A, B, L1/L2, R1/R2 and a D-Pad.
According to the press release, the Wikipad Gamevice should be able to fit most Android devices because of how it is built, featuring a flex bridge design that expands or collapses to fit mobile devices.
As of right now there is no word on pricing or when the Gamevice will actually become available for purchase. However Wikipad will have the Gamevice at CES 2014 so you can be sure that we will be stopping by Wikipad’s booth to give the Gamevice a goof fondling.
You can read the (rather large) press release below which also features new about the Wikipad 7″ getting an Android 4.2 OTA update and new games that will come pre-installed with a purchase of a new Wikipad gaming tablet.
