[Updated] Pokemon style game Monster Legacy will be arriving onto Android soon

We have had a few attempts at some real Pokemon-style of games on Android and a few have been pulled due to being too close to the actual Pokemon franchise. A new game is heading our way soon called Monster Legacy that hopes to fill the void of a Pokemon type of game on smartphones and tablets.

Update February 6th, 2014 1:33am PST: It appears that Monster Legacy isn’t officially announced for Android after all and is currently planned for iOS only at this point. Considering the possible IAPs and such, this might not be a bad thing even though a lot of people want a Pokemon style game.

If you’ve played a Pokemon game on any other platform then you will feel right at home with Monster Legacy. You have your RPG-style of game along with capturing monsters, evolving them and battling it out with other monsters and trainers. The actual goal of the game is to take down the Evil Lord Ardur and to do that you’ll need powerful monsters.

As of right now there is a total of over 60 quests to partake in, collecting monsters along the way as well as rewards for completing said quests. It is pretty much everything you could ask for in a Pokemon type of game. There is one thing that could make a world of difference as to whether or not you play this game and that is the inclusion of Wait Timers and Gem spending.

You’ll be able to kill building wait timers (since you can build things like a new Monster Ranch) by spending gems on eliminating those timers. Of course to get gems you’ll need to buy them with real money. The real question will be if this set-up completely breaks the gameplay or if it remains as superficial stuff like build timers and emergency item use (if you don’t have said item and need it in combat).

As for when Monster Legacy will be landing on Android, all we know is that it will be ‘soon’.
