Amazon launches their Amazon Coins onto all Android devices for residents of the USA, UK and Germany

Back in May of last year Amazon launched their Amazon Coins feature for use with their Kindle Fire tablets and the Amazon AppStore. Since then not much has happened in the way of expanding access to Amazon Coins outside of Kindle Fire owners until now as the company has now made available Amazon Coins to all Android devices if you live in the USA, UK or Germany.

For those of you unfamiliar with Amazon Coins, this was basically Amazon’s own currency that people can use to spend on games off of Amazon’s AppStore. However, before today you had to own a Kindle Fire tablet to use Amazon Coins unless you gifted them to someone else who did own one of those tablets.

For developers, unless you are targeting Kindle Fire tablets back then, Amazon Coins was pretty much useless. Now there is actually some validity to the company’s currency since it can now be used on non-Amazon Android devices.
